FAIRFIELD/ARROWTOWN MUSIC EXCHANGE 2014

Our Fairfield Visitors Are Looking For Hosts!

We have 16 students from Fairfield School, Dunedin arriving on Monday, 18 August to take part in our annual Music Exchange.
They will be staying three nights(Monday - Wednesday nights) with our hosting families and will require lunches for Tuesday and Wednesday.  The visiting school will be travelling up the mountain on Wednesday morning to participate in our winter outdoor education programme.
If you are interested in having one of the visiting musicians stay with you, please let Ms Neill know via email as soon as possible. I know we wont have any problems accommodating them as there are 18 band members here at Arrowtown school.  karenn@arrowtown.school.nz
Fairfield school's ETA is Monday at 7:30pm in the Performing Arts room unfortunately due to a sporting commitment for the majority of the group.
The bands will be going up to the Gondola on Tuesday morning and performing to the Y1-4 on Tuesday afternoon.
A DISCO for the Y5-8 students will be on Wednesday night which the bands will be playing at.

Hi Guys!

I hope you had a fabulous time in the snow today.  The weather is bringing a drop in temperatures overnight so getting to school safely in the early hours tomorrow morning with the icy road conditions might be asking for trouble so we will rehearse at lunchtime instead.

SCHOOL STARTS AT 10:30am (NO INTERVAL)

See you in the band room at lunchtime!!

ROCK BANDS

The following people have been selected as the musicians for the Monday and Tuesday morning bands which will begin rehearsing week 9.
(Please take note that I have not selected vocalists yet as I usually spend time with the musicians initially to prepare them for vocalists.  There is no use the vocalists becoming bored through a rehearsal because the band are struggling to hold the song together.  All vocalists will get into a band. No one will be left out.)

Unfortunately we can only have one drummer per group.  The standard was quite high.  Thank you for taking the time to audition.

MONDAY 7:45am - 9:00am in the band room.

Lukas Campbell (Drums)
Oliver Stewart (Bass)
Gabe White (Guitar)
Ruby Hamilton (Keyboards)

TUESDAY 7:45am - 9:00am in the band room.

Samantha Johnston (Drums)
Jack Wilson (Guitar)
Hera Winders (Bass)
Nina Smith (Keyboards)

This week(8), I am working with Oliver Stewart and Hera Winders as they have agreed to learn the bass for both of the bands.  Well done Oliver and Hera! You are a real TROUPERS!

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU ALL!
